Gal-Barwaaqo School

A NEW SCHOOL OF HOPE

Our project to build a brand new school for the Gal-Barwaaqo community is in the final stages. Construction has started on the school that is scheduled to open April 2019. The school will be an elementary school for 150 Nomadic children. Our vision is that in the next few years, hundreds more nomadic will move to the town and have a school to attend. Children will receive a quality values-based education in adequate facilities as a result of our projects.

Give to Learn to Grow Foundation is currently providing assistance to students in Gal-Barwaaqo by donating desks, school supplies, books and clothing until the new school opens.

We have taken on the challenge of providing education to underprivileged children who are nomads and do not get access to education in the Horn of Africa. In addition to desks, we provide all teacher training, school supplies and children clothing.

Give to Learn to Grow Foundation is aimed specifically at providing classroom spaces and schools in nomadic communities. In addition, we’ve started recruiting teachers from the local community. We are training teachers and creating employment opportunities for them in the Sool region of East Africa.

We believe education changes communities. Nomadic communities do not get access to formal education in East Africa.

Give to Learn to Grow Foundation has a responsibility to its donors to make sure the schools we build will result in providing needy communities education. We provide resources, conduct workshops and coaching for future teachers for our new schools. Currently, the Gal-Barwaaqo community has a make-shift school that is completely structured and supplied by Give to Learn to Grow Foundation.

Water Wells Project in Sool

THE AFRICAN CONTINENT FACES THE GREATEST CHALLENGE OF ANY REGION OF THE WORLD WITH ROUGHLY 1 OF 3 (330 MILLION) PEOPLE NOT USING A CLEAN WATER SOURCE.

We believe clean water is the first step out of poverty for many nomads.

We are supporting nomads in the Sool region with fresh water that is 300 Meters deep in the ground.

The first water well has started in Gal-Barwaaqo community. Through your support, we invest in proven partners who are drilling fresh water wells and other water projects providing sanitation and hygiene training and constructing other sustainable water projects.

We follow up, monitor and evaluate the projects you support to help ensure our shared work has a long-term impact.

We believe that every supporter can be part of the story of water by learning, acting, giving and then seeing the difference they make.

The Newt & Pat Tarble Public Library

THE FIRST PUBLIC LIBRARY IN LAS ANOD, SOOL

Give to Learn to Grow Foundation locate communities that would benefit from having a library within East Africa.

Library spaces create a vibrant learning environment for children to enjoy the benefits of a library. We provide all materials and build our libraries to the specific needs of the community.

The Sool region has a population of nearly 720,000 people and no library! We are currently constructing the first library in the region which will service nearly 30,000 children. The new library is scheduled to open in early 2019. It will provide books, math & literacy classes, workshops, art classes and technology development for children between the ages of 3 to 10.
