Where We Began
The story of Ahmed Saed Nalayeh School began with a modest structure on a small plot of land.
For about a year, the school was just one building serving the educational needs of the community. Our foundation supported learning within these limited grounds, ensuring that students had a place to study and grow. Yet from the very beginning, the vision extended beyond these walls. We aspired to create a true school campus—one that would provide students with greater opportunities, expanded resources, and an environment designed to nurture their full potential. In 2019, this vision came to life as construction began, marking the first step toward transforming a simple beginning into a lasting center of education and possibility.
2019
Construction officially began in 2019, a milestone that represented far more than the start of building walls and classrooms.
It was the moment when years of planning, community vision, and collective determination came to life. What stood as empty ground became more than bricks and mortar; it became the site of possibility—anchored by the hopes of parents, the dedication of educators, and the dreams of children eager to learn. Those first steps in construction symbolized our commitment to creating not only a school, but a place where knowledge, growth, and opportunity could flourish for generations to come.
The First Building
Soon after beginning construction, what was once a barren plot became the foundation for our beloved school. The very first building to rise from the ground was a promise fulfilled. Completed in the early stages of our project, this building became a symbol of progress and possibility. Its walls stood as proof that the vision we carried together could take shape, brick by brick, and serve as the cornerstone for everything that would follow. For students and families, walking into that first completed space was going to be a moment of pride and reassurance: the dream of a school was no longer distant, but real and standing before them.
2020-2021
Between 2020 and 2021, the vision of our school expanded rapidly.
New buildings took shape, the front gate was completed, a playground and additional classrooms were built to welcome even more students. Within a short time, the site had transformed into a vibrant campus—alive with the sound of learning and laughter. As we look back to the this period, the photos of our students running freely across the courtyard, books in hand and smiles on their faces are evidence that these spaces were not only constructed, but filled with joy, purpose, and opportunity. This was the moment our school truly came to life, becoming a home for education and community.
2022-2023
In 2022 and 2023, the school continued to grow into a fully equipped learning environment.
An assembly hall was built, giving students a central space for gatherings, celebrations, and shared learning. A lunch compound was established to ensure children had a dedicated place to eat and recharge during the day. Just as importantly, teachers’ quarters were constructed—recognizing that with the school located on the outskirts of town, it was essential to provide staff with a comfortable and reliable place to live. These additions not only strengthened the daily rhythm of school life but also reinforced our commitment to building a sustainable, supportive community for both students and educators.
Alongside these major additions, the classrooms themselves were improved—made brighter and better equipped to support students’ learning.
Each upgrade reflected our ongoing commitment to not just expanding the school, but continually enhancing the quality of education offered within its walls.
2024-2025:
Happening Now
Though our school has come so far, there is much work ahead.
Currently, expansion projects are focused on building for the future—adding more classrooms and facilities to meet the growing needs of our students. Plans include a dedicated computer lab and science lab to broaden learning opportunities, additional quarters for teachers and volunteers to strengthen our staff community, and critical infrastructure such as a new water tank and solar panels to ensure the school remains sustainable and resilient. These projects reflect not only growth in numbers, but also our vision to provide students with the tools, resources, and environment they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Through our efforts, we’ve been able to make substantial progress, with many of these projects expected to come to fruition this school year. Each step forward brings us closer to realizing our vision of a school that not only meets immediate needs but also prepares students for the future.
Looking back on this journey from 2019 to today, we are reminded that every brick laid and every classroom opened was made possible through the strength of community and the generosity of our supporters. What began as a dream has grown into a thriving school where children learn, play, and imagine brighter futures.
Yet, our work is not finished.
